5 Trail Cams at our Cabin1

 Here is the new format for the best shots each download period (2 months) from the five tree mounted Trail Cams up at our cabin in Happy Jack. The trail cams are a Meidase SL122 Pro, and works both daytime (color shots) and night time (infrared). The camera had very high ratings, and has superb sensitivity to picking up the faint IR movements which trigger the camera.

For each trigger event, we have the camera set to take a 10 second video, which the stills are extracted by frame capture upon reviewing. All of these images This allows us best composition and posture of the various animals over the 10 second recording period.

The cameras are set up along known game trails on the land, and at our astronomical observatory to see what shows up when we are gone. We also found that severe weather events trigger the cams, apparenly falling snow has a moving IR signature! So there is a "Weather" section below as well.

Best Latest Images from December 2022 (holiday download)

When we were up for the holidays we downloaded the cameras after only a month. But a NEW ANIMAL was seen! The Racoon had been suspected in eariler shots, but now we got him 3 times. And although we did see turkey tracks, they were behind the cameras and it was not captured. We also got another great daytime shot of the BobCat.

  Best Bunny: This is on the path from driveway to front door of the Cabin.
 Best Coyote: Long haired coyote traveling toward house at night. 
 
  Best Deer: Baby deer in front of the Observatory! 
 
  Best Fox: Beautifully colored, here is a daytime shot. 
 
  Best Jackrabbit: Seen only at night as in this infrared shot, the Jack came by about 3 times. 
 
  Best Cat: A wandering domestic cat came by in this shot looking the path between drive and cabin. we still do not know what his color is since he only comes by at night and is in infrared. 
 
  Best Bob Cat: Best ever shot in driveway in the daytime!
 Best Racoon: The racoon came by twice, and this was the best we have so far...
 Best Squrrell: Running on the pathway to cabin.
 Best Chipmunk: same path, but he is much smaller!
 Best Javalina: Only one shot of the Javalina in the day time, these wild boars are common all over Arizona.

 Best Elk: In front of Cabin in the daytime, a small herd.
 Best Stellar Jay: Nice iconic bird, makes its appearance often

 Best Mexican Grey Jay: The smartest Jay are these, in the Raven family.

 Best Raven: Usually they come in bunches, but he was alone this time.
