Sun in CaK / White Light With Explore Scientific AR152 Refractor + Lunt CaK filter or Baader Wedge Uploaded 7/4/21 Daily Report For Sunday, July 4 2021
Sunspot activity is picking up, but slowly. Today the monsoon clouds cleared for about 2 hours and allowed a morning shooting session. Seeing was not great, as it always is during this season. But a detailed larger sunspot group had some great details in both white and calcium light!

 WHITE LIGHT:

Lets start with the lowest magnification I can do with the AR152, with its longer focal length of the disk. You can see the one larger spot on the limb is getting ready to end its appearance for us here on Earth as it rotates out of view:

The other spots are very tiny, pore like in nature. But wait till you see the calciums!

With the 5x Televue Power mate, the poor seeing made the granulation a bit blurred. But good details in that sunspot.

Some of the smaller pores had little detail in them:

Nice little triad of spots at 5x:

Calcium had much better things to see. Here is the primary spot group:

And the smaller groups:
