Summer Milkyway and Jupiter
at
Midnight

Go
out now about midnight and you will see the above vista, the
summer Milkyway going straight through the zenith, and a brilliant
Jupiter rising in the east. North is at the bottom of this fish
eye lens shot, which covers nearly the entire sky seen from my
backyard. Look closely at the top edge of this image. That green
layered glow is the auroral airglow, running along the northern
horizon. |
