NGC6231 Brilliant Open Cluster in Scorpius
Orion 8" f/4 Astrograph
Uploaded 6/7/19
This
cluster in the very southernmost reaches of the constellation
of Scorpius is one of the most stunning objects of its type in
the entire sky. Nested in a rich Milky Way star field filled
with dark nebula and bright wisps of emission as well. This cluster
has the informal name "The christmas tree cluster"
because of its shape. |
