Two Comets in the Morning Sky - Comet C/2012 F6 Lemmon and Comet C/2010 S1 Linear September 27, 2013

Uploaded 9/28/13

There are several faint comets now in the evening sky, and two are presented here. Both are 12-13th magnitude and have faint tails of very low surface brightness. These images were taken with the 12.5" f/5 and an ST10xme CCD camera. Both exposures are for 30 minutes total integration time. Comet Lemmon is near the head of Draco and is up many hours, but comet Linear S2 was in Vulpecula, which is high up, but into the trees next to the observatory within an hour! The field here is approximately half a degree wide.
