Comet P/67P Churyumov - Gerasimenko
in the Morning sky
November 20, 2015
This
14th magnitude object, currently near its brightest is also the
location of the Rosetta spacecraft and has been on my list of
comets to shoot for a long time! An unexpected ray in the tail,
which is composed of dust for the most part can be easily seen
in this image, which spans some half a degree tall. Seeing was
poor, but the sky was dark and transparent. The comet is in Leo,
near M95 and rides low in the eastern sky at 3am this morning. | |
