Comet 46P/Wirtanen
in the evening sky
November 29, 2018

This comet is coming in for December, and is currently around 5.5 magnitude in the southern constellation of Fornax. I should be able to see this one now with the 10 inch at ground level since it is high enough to clear the trees in the south now. Here, we set up on the upper story balcony on the back of our house with a portable mount and I used the Meade 622 for imaging. 60 one minute frames were taken, and 55 combined here for this color image with a Hutech-Canon Xti.
