Comet Pons/Brooks
in the evening sky
4/2/24

Now an easy naked eye sight from a dark sky location, this comet is less than 15 degrees up at dark and has a very limited amount of time in which we can get clear images. For this set, I traveled to a site on a back road north of Payson about 20 miles where a very low distant horizon allowed a maximum amount of time on the comet. I was able to get in 35 minutes but the last 10 were very dim in the horizon extinction band and was rejected. 8" f/2 RASA, ASI071mc CMOS.
