Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS
in the evening sky
12/6/24

Now 9th magnitude and fading fast in Aquilla, this is perhaps the last shot I will ever take of this object. Just setting over the peak of the house in the west, I was only able to get 14 minutes on it before it was set. There is some green in the coma, and the dust tail is still a forked fan. Time now to say goodby to this celestial splendor, and welcome a new comet in the morning eastern sky!
