Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS
in the evening sky
10/31/24
Ok,
one last shot for comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. The comet is now 6th
magnitude in Ophuchus, right on the south end of the Aquilla
Milky Way "Off Ramp". Barely visible to the eye, I
can see perhaps a few degrees of tail. In binoculars is better,
covering more than the full field. This shot was exposed for
1 hour total, with 3 minute subs as to not roast the core pure
white. Still, we have a faint hint of the anti tail, and a few
ribs in the tail near the coma. RASA 8" f/2, ASI2600 MC,
