Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS
in the evening sky
10/13/24
This
wide angle shot with a 35mm lens gives a good visual impression
of the size and detail in this bright evening comet. I took this
at our dump side road site about 20 minutes north of Payson which
has a low western horizon. This is a Canon Xti with a Sigma 18-200
zoom set to 35mm at f/4.5 on a tripod, with 10 second subs to
total 3 minutes total integation time. The shot is somewhat artistic
in that the last frame was used as the base stack to give a true
horizon for this shot. The 80 percent full moon rising in the
east lit up the foreground. |
