Comet C/2023 A6 Lemmon
in the morning sky
10/16/25

Now around 5th magnitude and only 10 degrees up in the early morning sky, This comet is currently transitioning to near circumpolar and will be soon available in the evening sky as well. This is a two part montage, one on top of another, and shows 12 degrees of tail on this interesting comet. The yellow near the head is dust and forms a narrow fan to the right, while the blue gas tail streams off into the top of the frame.

This was shot with the Samyang 135mm @ f/2.4, ASI2600MC and the Ioptron GEM45 mount on the second story balcony at our house in Payson.
