Comet Churyumov Gerasimenko 67P & M35, NGC2158
in the morning sky
October 16, 2021
A
very photogenic approach of the 10th magnitude comet over the
magnificent open cluster M35 in Gemini. This is a combined 1
hour exposure of the event, 50 mins of L frames, 10 mins of RGB
data using the ST10xme CCD and Astrodon filters. The comet shows
some beautiful cyan coloration from carbon ions in the head,
and a golden dust tail extending to the right. North is up here
in this 3 degree field. |
