Comet Atlas G3 in broad daylight AT PERIHELION.

 This is the comets closest approach to the sun, and was only 5 degrees away. Now about -2 magnitude, the comet shows over a degree of tail in a brilliant blue sky near the Sun. A ray in the tail can be seen on the left side, and also note the curvature of the tail.
