Comet 220P McNaught
in the morning sky
6/4/26

This comet has exploded in brightness in a few days around June 2nd due to a possible cave collapse event when near perihelion. Was 18th magnitude and raced upwards to mag 8 in those two days. It has stabilized around that and once the huge bright moon goes dim, we can get a clearer shot. This was with an 85% moon nearby. The comet is a morning sky target, just south of the circlet of Pisces.
