Here is comet
13P/Olbers now a few days past perihelion. It is at its best
at this point. Very low in the WSW, you only have less than half
an hour to get images of this challenging target. Here, I set
up well before dark and started shooting frames about 15 minutes
before the end of twilight to try to capture the comets dim tail
to an advantage. The field here is about 4 degrees wide, and
at least 5 degrees of tail is recorded diagonally. It is highly
contorted near the head. Also note the dust fan near the comets
yellow head as well. In binoculars, it was seen only as a dim
round glow with a very faint 1 degree or so of very dim tail.
Get out and see this one, it will be gone very soon!
