Still at 6th magnitude and sporting a complex tail composed of a broad fan and thin gassy ion tail, this comet still does not disappoint both visual and photographic observers. Two images are presented here. The first is a 7 minute exposure manually guided on the comets nucleus to freeze the comets slow motion against the starry background, which appears as streaks. The second image I applied the Larson-Sekanina filter made for comets in Astro Art, to subtract out any radial symmetrical details in the comet, leaving the rays in the tail intact and far easier to see. The comet still sports a 2 degree tail in binoculars, but was not seen visually naked eye from our site in Payson.
