The Storm resulting from a huge solar flare made for some unique photo opportunities on this night. To make this image, I opened the shutter, with a dim white LED flashlight shining on me creating the soft bluish coloration. I stood still for the entire exposure and then walked over and stopped the shot. Behind me is one of the rarest (or as we have been led to believe) phenomenon in the Arizona skies - the glow of the Northern Lights. Instrument: 28mm f/2.8 Albinar Lens on Pentax K1000 Platform: Tripod Film: Kodak Supra 400 Exposure: 8 mins Filters: NONE Location: Payson, Arizona Elevation: 5150 ft.
