First Experiments with Tri-Color Astrophotography

The images below represent my newest effort in improving the overall quality of my skyshooting. Three exposures using black and white gas hypered tech pan were combined digitally for greatly enhanced resolution over standard color film. More detail on my technique will be presented Saturday at the Riverside Telescope Makers Conference coming in May on Memorial Day weekend in California.

IC1396 in Cepheus. Each Tech pan exposure was 30 minutes in duration.

The Cocoon Nebula in Cygnus. 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

The crescent Nebula in Cygnus, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

Eagle Nebula in Serpens, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

NGC2174 in Orion, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

12.5" f/5 - Galaxies

NGC4831 in Canes Venatici. 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

M33 Triangulum Galaxy. 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

NGC 2903 in Leo, inclined spiral galaxy. 10.25" f/6. Each exposure 30 minutes.

12.5" f/5 - Reflection Nebula

Merope Nebula in Taurus, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

12.5" f/5 - Supernova Remanents

IC443 in Gemini, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

M1, The Crab Nebula in Taurus. 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

The Veil Nebula in Cygnus, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

12.5" f/5 - Planetary Nebula

Abell 21 in Gemini, 12.5" f/5, each exposure one hour.

Additional Photos taken in February

Seven exposures on the Orion nebula on Kodak Pro 400 PPF ranging in exposure from 4minutes to 60 minutes in duration. Carefully combined with Picture window and Photoshop to form a close to visual appearance presentation.
