This short 15 minute exposure on unhypered Supra says a lot for both the film, and the skies at my new observatory site. With skies that are mag 7.5 visually, and superb high altitude transparency makes for a stage set for some fine imaging. The belt occupies the center of the frame, surrounded by a huge arcing loop of nebulosity to the west known as Barnards loop. Above it is a huge spherical red nebula, the Lambda Orionis bubble. A spur of nebulosity can be see connecting Barnards Loop to this enigmatic object. The nebulosity containing the Horse Head nebula is just below the left belt star, and streams of red nebulosity fan over to Barnards Loop. The red patch just on the left west edge is part of the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros.
