An absolutely amazing region of the sky, containing a perfect example of a dimly lit dark nebula from the light of the stars from our own galaxy. NGC6726 is the bright reflection nebula on the left tip of the central ovoid dark nebula. To its lower left is the globular NGC6723 resolved around the edges here. To the upper left also in the dark lane is IC4812. The overall brownish dust seen in the center, extends off to the upper right forming a long tail of dust obscuring the background stars a bit, and lit by dim starlight. Field is 6.5 degrees wide.
