This is amongst the most spectacular regions found in the galaxy for astrophotographers. This two degrees in diameter star cloud is a knot in the central regions of the Milky Way Galaxy. Embedded inside is the star cluster NGC6603, which some catalogs list as M24 as well. Other objects include IC1283, an emission/reflection nebula complex appearing as a large red patch above center. IC4701 is the red at bottom center, and the dark nebula in the middle is Barnard 92.
