This amazing complex of emission nebula and star clouds is unequaled in the entire sky. The large star cloud at the bottom is M24, an isolated bright patch in the Milky Way rather than a true star cluster. The dark spot in the middle area in this object is the dark nebula Barnard 92. The arc shaped red nebulosity just above middle is IC4701, and the very bright emission object at left top is of course M17.

Processing: Two images, each sky fog limited (airglow limited actually) were not summed or averaged, but their negatives were multiplied in Photoshop after registering in PW pro. Then the images were reinverted to a positive and processed normally.
