Located just south of the better known NGC2174 in Orion, this grouping of nebulas is often overlooked in favor of the regions more spectacular showpieces. The red trio of nebulas at the bottom consist of three parts, on the left is the larger Sharpless 2-254 followed by the smaller but brighter S2-257 and IC2162. Just above to the upper left is the much larger and fainter S2-261 spanning nearly half a degree in size.
