Another test shot from the new observatory on the Colorado Plateau. On the left, is the "Valentine Nebula" shaped like a giant heart. To its left is a bright patch of nebulosity known as IC1795, a fantastically complex object. The Huge open cluster in the lower middle frame is NGC1027, a 6.7 magnitude sparse object. The large nebula on the right is IC1848, also known as the "Embryo Nebula". (the head is to the right) It surrounds the open cluster CR34. Numerous red patches fill the field. These are for the CCD and the 12.5 inch in Payson. Processing: Two 8 minute exposures scanned with a Nikon LS2000 at 12 bits, combined (filter) as negatives in PWPro3, and final touch up in Photoshop 7.
