In the evening sky at Croyden, I shot this image to illustrate the location for us northern observers of Crux in relation to Corvus. As you can see, the uppermost star in Crux, Gacrux or Gamma Crucis can be seen from the southernmost areas of Arizona (Bisbee, etc.) with a clear southern horizon. The red object to the lower right is Eta Carina, a large emission complex. Platform: Camera Tripod Film: Kodak PJ400 Exposure: 5 mins Filters: UV Location: Karumba, Queensland Australia Sky: Seeing 8/10, Transparency 8/10 Outside Temperature: 15 C Processing: Photoshop, PW Pro.
