Emission Nebula in Cassiopiea

Uploaded 11/6/02

Located near Caph, also known as Beta Cass, this small round nebula is a beautiful Stromgren sphere, consisting of a ionized ball of hydrogen gas. At 5 arcminutes in diameter, it is a perfect target for CCD skyshooters as well. I could find little else on this object, except it was illustrated in both the Buil-Thouvenot and Vehrenberg Atlas of Galactic Nebula as a note worthy object.

Processing: L Channel - Cal, Sum Combine and DDP in Maxim, Deconvolve in AIP4WIN. RGB - Cal, Sum Combine, RGB combine in Maxim, LRGB in Photoshop 7, and LRGB color correction to match RGB in PW pro 3.0.
