This is a part of a larger nebula in Vulpecula, but the most interesting section for sure. This shot was carefully composed to include the open cluster NGC6823 in the upper left, the dark "elephant trunk" structure to its right and the shock fronts at the bottom. The nebula itself is NGC6820, a 25x12 arcminute emission object cataloged as well as Sharpless 2-86.
