NGC2403 in Camelepodaris
with 10" f/3.9 Astrograph

This 9th magnitude nearly face on spiral galaxy just keeps growing and growing larger the more exposure you give it. This deep image here, with over 11 hours total integration time is fully twice the size of all my previous shots with multiple telescopes and CCD cameras. The golden core is small for such a large galaxy, but the arms seem to go on forever with a sky bluish tint. Look closely and you will see the pink HII regions in the arms, mostly in the inner areas of the galaxys disk.

This full frame shot here with the new Atik 16200 camera makes this galaxy look small, yet it is one of the largest galaxies in the sky outside the Local Group at 22 arc minutes in length.
