The dwarf spheriodal
galalxy Leo II in Leo is very seldom imaged by amateurs. However,
as you can see it is clearly resolvable into a glowing sparkle
of both golden and saphire blue super giant stars. A background
of unresolved blue stars is in its core. This very much resembles
a globular cluster such as Omega Centauri, which is a small galaxy
core stripped of its outer stars. Stars to 20th magnitude are
seen here, the brightest members are around magnitude 17 or so.
