CTB1 in Cassiopiea is an incredibly dim super nova remnant, a real challenge to get a clean image of amonst the huge number of stars in this part of the sky. Its age is about 12,000 years and size around 3ly. There have been many names for this object. Originally, it was called the "Medulla Nebula" for its brain like shape. Other names include the "Garlic Nebula", and "Popped Balloon Nebula".

The second wider field context image was taken at the same time with the MiniCat51, and reveals the it is surrounded by a host of other Sharpless nebula, dark LDN clouds, and many colorful Milky Way stars.
