Aveni-Hunter 1 and LDN534 Molecular Cloud
In Andromeda
with 10" f/3.9 Astrograph @ f/2.9
Uploaded 12/26/24

Here is a very rarely imaged target in Andromeda, the molecular cloud LDN534 with the splashy star cluster Aveni-Hunter 1 lying inside its birth cloud near the bottom of the nebulous streak. It is not entirely known what caused the cluster to form here, possibly a nearby supernova or wind from a hot blue supergiant nearby. None the less it is a perfect fit for our 2 degree wide field of our ten inch astrograph. See Sue French's Deep Sky Wonders book for more details.
