First Saturn shoot out with
our newly aquired Questar
Uploaded 5/18/13
While it
is certainly possible to get some detail on planets with a 90mm
scope, it is really too small an aperture for this, but the challenge
remains - what CAN you actually get with such an instrument? I
think this set of Saturn images taken on a night of poor seeing
shows that a respectable image can be had with only 3.5 inches
of aperture!
Images are
with a DMK51 camera with exposure times up to 1/8 second.
Lets start
with a prime focus shot, which actually shows the rings pretty
well:
Now lets
put in the built in 2x barlow and see what we get:
And thats
it for my first attempt. Thanks for looking!
