S Monoceros - Cone Nebula Region
Emission / Reflection in Monoceros
Uploaded 1/8/26

Centered here is the S Monoceros reflection nebula NGC2264, with the Cone Nebula just below. The dark nebula to the upper right is LDN1609-10, and the entire field here is glowing in swirls of red and pink hydrogen gas from Sharpless 2-273. The concentration of red mottles just touching the blue reflection nebula above center is the Fox Fur Nebula. Finally note Hubbles Variable nebula at bottom center. A huge open cluster to the right of center is formed with yellow stars.
