Emission / Reflection Nebula in Scorpius
Uploaded 6/24/24

A spectacular blend of red hydrogen and blue and yellow dust can be found in the claws of Scorpius called Sharpless 2-1. This new image was a two part mosaic with two separate instruments. The Hydrogen alpha was imaged for 2 hours with a RASA 8 and IDAS NBZ mark II filter, and the RGB and reflection components were with a Stellarvue SV80S and a UV/IR blocker filter. All four sets of data were combined for this new image. Exposure: 4h total, ASI2600 MC CMOS, Happy Jack, AZ.
