Last looks at Omega Centauri from Happy Jack
Stellarvue SV80 f/4.7 Astrograph
Uploaded 5/30/23
We
knew the day would come, when the tall pine trees near our observatory
in Happy Jack would grow too tall to get a good shot at this
premiere object. Here is a shot I was able to sqeeze in this
year in the few minutes it was between branches on those distant
Ponderosa pines. This shot was taken when the sky was still light
out, only an hour after sunset and is only 10 seconds long. The
cluster is still bright enough to be seen, but against a deepening
blue sky. Fortunately, Centaurus A was still above the tree line
and I was able to get some time on this subject. |
