M24 - M17 Region

One of the very richest
            star fields in the Milky Way can be found here, surrounding the
            emission nebula M17 in Sagittarius. Just below is M24 which itself
            is immersed in pink hydrogen and punctuated by small dust clouds.
            At top is the rather extensive M16 Eagle nebula which is three
            times larger than most telescope shots reveal. A most amusing
            anchor shaped dark nebula on the left is LDN374 and it too is
            surrounded by glowing hydrogen.
