M17 Swan Nebula Region
Emission / Reflection in Sagittarius

The field around M17 is loaded with rich hydrogen clouds, dark dust motes, amongst a heavy sprinkle of faint gold and blue Milky Way stars. IC4701 is the extended cloud to the lower right and M18 at the bottom of this frame. The tiny round red patch at the top is Sh2-47.
