LBN7 - The Cosmic Bat Nebula in Ophiuchus
Dark Nebula
Uploaded 5/24/25

This nebula which is designted officially as LBN7, is a dense knot in the Scorpius-Ophiuchus molecular cloud complex resembling a flying bat. Ive heard this one refered to as either the "Cosmic Bat" or "Flying Bat" nebula. Notice that nearly every star in this field is yellowed by the extensive interstellar reddening from the dust. A few small galaxies appear in the clearer spots.
