The 8" f/5 SAC Club Telescope Project

 Back in the late
            80s, I did a club scope project with about a dozen club members
            in the SAC. Icame up with this design, which has a folding base
            and easy to make tube. Many different color schemes were created,
            all with this same basic design. We did make almost a dozen scopes
            in Dan Wards garage that year. They work well and for many, it
            was thier first real telescope. The mirrors were comercially
            produced by a local amateur.
