Amateur Telescope Making The First 16 inch - "Lightweight Transportable" Uploaded 12/5/17
By 1989, I tried another approach with the 16" - A lightweight version. Here, the old base from the 12 inch Trifid was redone and the 16's tube was mounted. It worked rather well, and we spent many hours at night at star parties having fun with this one. A new lightweight tube made all the difference!
