Just above the center in this image is the entire constellation of Scorpius. Can you find it? For most of us, the base of the Scorpions tail marks our more northerly horizons. But here, you can see the neck of the dark Emu extending downward past the Norma nebula and star clouds to Alpha and Beta Centauri at the bottom. The fuzzy patch on the lower right in the corner is Omega Centauri and at the top you can easily see the entire dark horse nebula. We took this one about halfway to our final destination, deep in the Outback of Australia last dark of the moon. It was even darker there.
