Test Series#3

M20/21 - The Trifid Nebula in Sagittarius

12.5" f/5, 45 mins. Star colors look great, and the blue reflection nebulosity wraps completely around the red part.

 M27 - The Dumbbell Nebula

12.5" f/5, 45 mins. The correct blue/green color dominates the core region, surrounded by a red disk, with the ears clearly visible.

 M8 - The Lagoon Nebula

12.5" f/5, 45 mins. The elevated green response of this film makes for a colorful pink coloration to this object, the faint outer tendrils responding nicely with this emulsion.

 M57 - The Ring Nebula

12.5" f/5, 45 mins. An intense blue core surrounded by the deep red disk also highlights this films ability to record planetary nebula in excellent color reproduction.

From these results, the film shines as a prime focus film rendering more technically accurate hydrogen clouds and planetary nebula colors. Star colors are superb with this film at prime focus as well, revealing an entire spectral range of colors and intensities.

Prognosis: This films a keeper for Prime focus work, but the green response overwhelms the background when shooting wide angle and in light pollution.

** Tests with OPT provided "Centuria 400" indicate this film has the same spectral response and contrast.
