High Altitude Weather Balloon

 Just after sunset, we noticed a brilliant not quite stellar beacon floating in the eastern sky. Closer examination with binoculars revealed it was a huge weather balloon up beyond 100,000 feet altitude probably launched from New Mexico. Here is the shot we took of the balloon against a deepening blue sky with the 400mm, enlarged in the inset.
