Reflection Nebula in Orion

Uploaded 3/24/2001

Awash with dark obscuring clouds, this is the central core of an extensive reflection nebular complex in the Hunter, located about ten degrees north east of the more famous Great Orion Nebula. This nebula is difficult to photograph satisfactorily because of its low brightness and subtle color.
