3D Printing Projects: Design, Printing, Implementation

Tea Bowl Project

Updated 12/29/19

Here we have a storage bowl for the kitchen for assorted bagged teas. The copper PLA filament from CC3D was used, and prints identically to the gold and silver filaments we have also tried. The material is brittle, and needs 215 degrees C for the temp. It tends to foam out as it prints, hiding small details. But the color and shine is the best in the industry, so we put up with its nuances.

3D Cad model in Solidworks. Essentially, you draw a sphere, chop its top off and add the brim ring. The bottom is flat as well. Then you use the shell command to hollow it out.

Finished print! Looks nice in the sun.
